I honestly don't know where to begin when it comes to writing about this wedding. C+S are two of the most genuinely kind and down to earth people that I have met so far in my career. So it's needless to say that their wedding followed suit. They had 8 people each in their bridal party, which sounds like it would be overwhelming, but you guys, their friends were ALSO incredible people so the whole thing went so smooth.
I arrived, along with my second shooter, Caitlin (CRU Portraits), at Scott's parents property out in Turner Valley for the getting ready photos and the ceremony. This was incredibly special because this property was where both Scott's parents and his grandparents got married. I try to maintain composure as best as I can when groom's start to show emotion as their brides walks down the aisle toward them, but this is one of the weddings where I was a complete wreck. Scott, the biggest farm boy manly man you will ever meet had tears streaming down his face as Caitlyn walked toward him. Wrecked.
These two are perfect for each other in so many ways and it honestly felt like watching two of my best friends say "I do". This wedding is the reason why I love my job as much as I do.
The reception and photos were done at the Coutts Centre for Western Canadian Heritage, which is hands down one of my favorites venues I have had the opportunity to shoot at. The entire property has like 100 different locations that are perfect for photos. Their reception was held in a tent and their first dance was done outside under hanging lights above them as the sun slowly began to set. Magic you guys.
Both Caitlyn and Scott lost their dad's growing up and the entire day they were remembered and talked about. I know that their dad's would have been so incredibly happy for them and I honestly feel like their perfect wedding day was a blessing. I left at the end of the night feeling so thankful for the opportunities I am given to capture real life fairy tales; for this beautiful world we live in and the trust from each and every one of my clients to capture it all. Congratulations C+S. You guys are the best.
