I have been looking forward to blogging this wedding since it happened. Tammy contacted me just days before their wedding was supposed to happen and told me that there had been a change of plans. They had decided to elope in the Kootenay's and wanted me to come with them. The only problem is that is was a seven hour drive away and it was the day after a full wedding day for me. But I wasn't willing to give up the chance to shoot out there with these two love birds, so I called my best friend and asked if she wanted to go on a super short, super impromptu road trip with me. We left the at 9pm after I finished shooting a wedding and drove for three hours to stay the night in Fernie to then carry on the rest of the way to the Kootenay's the next morning.
Tammy had rented us a super cute trailer in the campground they were staying in and the whole thing was the most magical intimate thing. My best friend hung out the whole day while I shot with T+K. We did their getting ready photos at their trailer and then drove to their ceremony on the beach just before sunset. We were able to get away and took a few photos in the most private, beautiful location I have ever shot in. Courtney and I then went for a dinner sitting outside on the patio of a place that had the most amazing tapas and listened to some live music. Then we went back to the trailer to go to sleep and I joined Tammy + Kalvin back at their trailer for some cake and watched a video that her maid of honour had recored for her with a speech.
It was maybe the most perfect wedding I have ever been to, and exactly why I love my job so much. I am so thankful to have been included in such an intimate day and for couples who set aside all of the drama and get married for the right reasons.
I adore you guys, and this will forever be in my top five weddings, I'm sure of it.
