Hey guys! I am Shelby Sayers, the owner of Fiddle + Drum Photography. I am a mom of three, who all happen to be carbon copies of their dad. Their extraordinary weirdness, however, comes straight from their mom. I married my high school sweetheart at the early age of 18. Marriage has been far from easy, but it is hands down the most rewarding thing I have ever done.
I love nothing more than laughing with friends over board games, reading a good book, and of course, taking photos with my Nikon. I am very family oriented and nothing I have ever done has made more sense to me than being a mom. The mountains call to me throughout the whole year and I try to get away to Canmore as much as I can. Fall is by far my favorite season and I love drinking Earl Grey tea lattes and could eat good authentic Mexican food every day.
I remember as a child I would sit in my dads office and open up all the boxes that held our families photos. I would spend hours looking through them all. I loved seeing my parents as young adults or children; it felt as though I was able to almost know them as they were then simply through a photograph. I was able to experience memories that weren't my own, or memories that were my own that I couldn't hope to remember.
Photographs are such an essential part of our culture, but sometimes we miss moments because we are trying so hard to capture them, to remember them. That is where I come in. I want to be there with you and your family, I want to make sure you have those moments frozen in time forever, moments that you can pass down to your own little girl to search through, (though maybe not on the floor of an office, but saved onto her own computer someday.)
That moment when he tucks the hair behind your ear, or when you absentmindedly run your fingers over his shoulders and down his back. The way you look at each other on the day you get married to the way you look at your children when they come into this world. I specialize in wedding photography but some of my favorite are every day moments between you and your loved ones.
